Vehicle versus Structure on Main Street
Thursday, December 13th, 2012
Dispatched at 1656hrs to the intersection of 1st & Main Streets for a 2 car MVA with multiple injuries. Rescue 2(with 4) arrived to find 1 vehicle into a maintenance shop with another involved parked on curb. Due to number of occupants, Kenbridge Rescue 77 was added to the assignment. Personnel began triaging occupants, secured building utilities, and placed struts in area of intrusion in case of compromise to the structure. All injuries non-life threatening, and a total of 4 ground transported to CMH. Once all injuries were transported, further inspection of building found that it was stable, and only D-side wall of building had damage. Units operated on scene for approximately 45 mins. VFR operating units: Rescue 2, Squad 2, Medic 2, Medic 2-1 with 14 personnel.

Dispatched at 0219hrs for a reported vehicle accident with unknown occupants. Upon investigating without an address, Rescue 2 & Squad 2 found the vehicle upright off the roadway with one occupant out, and the driver pinned.

Dispatched 0645hrs for a reported fully involved vehicle fire near a residence. Engine 2(with 3) arrived to find a passenger car with fire coming from engine compartment, and no immediate exposures. Engine 2 extinguished the car, and marked incident under control within 10mins of arrival.

Dispatched at 1504hrs for a single vehicle accident with injuries. Rescue 2(with 3) arrived first to find a small truck that overturned several times and landed upright off of the roadway. Occupant had self extricated himself, so Squad 2 was returned to service.

Dispatched 1809hrs for a MVA with 1 occupant in vehicle. Firefighter 282 (Williams) arrived first to find a car upright, partially blocking roadway with one occupant unresponsive in car. Rescue 2(with 4) arrived just after and began vehicle stabilization, and assumed command.

Dispatched 0026hrs to the report of a structure fire at 375 Trailer Park Road. Meherrin Fire and Rescue requested for mutual aid assistance. At 0032hrs Engine 2(with 5) marked on location with single wide trailer with smoke showing from the Alpha and Charlie side.

Dispatched at 0350hrs to 1600 Main Street, for reported fire showing from building. Squrt 2(with 5) arrived first to find a single story commercial structure, with heavy fire showing from sides A & C and roof.

Dispatched at 0132hrs, with report of fully involved structure at 2811 Falls Road. 201(Chief Newton) arrived to find a single story woodframe home, with structural collapse fully involved. No contact with residents, or no bystanders present to determine initially if anyone was home at time of fire.

Dispatched 2001hrs to assist Meherrin Fire with a motor vehicle accident. Reported that vehicle had overturned several times and occupant was partially ejected. Meherrin 503 arrived to find a vehicle that was on its side and off roadway, with occupant pinned partially out of drivers side window.

At 1730 hours Victoria Fire & Rescue was dispatched to 2647 Nutbush Rd. for a controlled burn that had spread to a storage building. Squrt 2 upon marking en route requested for second due company Meherrin FD to be dispatched for mutual aid.

DIspatched 2200hrs to 1415 Lunenburg Ave for a vehicle fire near a residence. Engine 2(with 7) arrived to find a fully involved pickup truck, with a home a few feet away. Siding had already began to melt on the B-Side.

Dispatched 1556hrs for reported fire in kitchen of residence. Upon arrival, Chief 2(201) arrived to find single story masonary structure with light smoke showing from exterior. Engine 2(with 7) arrived next with assignment of fire attack, entered structure and found fire in cooking area.

Dispatched 1057hrs to Lunenburg County Road for a reported chimney fire. Chief 2(202) marked on scene with nothing showing on exterior. Engine 2(with 5) arrived, entered in investigative mode. Light smoke with burning smell in area of wood stove and pipe.

DIspatched 1232hrs to assist Kenbridge Fire with a structure fire at 175 Mayflower Road. Minutes later Kenbridge's Unit 2 arrived advising heavy fire showing from all four sides. Engine 2(with 5) was assigned to assist in water supply, and personnel to assist in fire attack.

Dispatched at 1930hrs for single vehicle MVA on Burkeville Road in the area of Rubermont Road intersection. Upon arrival, Rescue 2(with 5) arrived to find a 4-dr car down and embankment with occupant injured.

Dispatched at 0710hrs for a single vehicle MVA, car is overturned and occupant out. Rescue 2(with 3) arrived to find small passenger car with heavy damage. Occupant was out of vehicle, and it had overturned multiple times.

Dispatched 1709hrs for a single vehicle MVA in 700 block of Falls Road. Just after dispatch, a member in the immeadiate area arrived to find a Car with heavy front end damage, resting against the guardrail, and one occupant out.

Dispatched at 1746hrs for a single vehicle MVA thats overturned with unknown injury. Upon arrival Rescue 2 found a 4dr Compact car on it's roof just off the roadway. The 2 occupants of the car were out upon the call being reported to Dispatch.
